Remote Learning in Fall Semester 2020
Especially during this time of uncertainty with the Covid-19 pandemic, spending time learning about Jesus and growing in love for Him and others will give our children the foundation they need to handle the complexities in life and keep their hearts and minds fixed on Jesus.
We know that this pandemic won't last forever and hope to see everyone in person soon. Therefore, we will be planning for one semester at a time. School of Religion will be providing Remote Learning to ALL grades for the Fall Semester. We realize that life can be overwhelming and are doing our best to make School of Religion Remote Classes simple and interactive.
What will SOR 2020 Fall Classes Look Like?
Classes will be remote and will look different, depending on the student's grade.
Since school openings are being delayed, we are delaying our start as well.
September 20th: School of Religion Opening Mass (Noon) with Packet Pick up after
September 23rd: First Class for Grades 1-8
Grades 1-6 Accessing Faith & Life Curriculum
As usual, being prepared for class increases the knowledge and understanding from the class, and with Remote learning, this is even more important. Your child will be asked to read their assigned chapters (about 1 chapter per week) prior to each scheduled class.
Your Choice: When registering your child, you will choose the option for that child.
** Prior to accessing the remote class, students should read the assigned chapters, according to the syllabus.
Grades 7 & 8 Accessing Chosen (by Ascension) Curriculum
Each student will have his/her own sign-on to the Chosen videos online and have taken home a Chosen workbook.
Grades 7 & 8 Remote Classes Twice a month
Prior to class, students should view assigned videos and complete workbook pages according to the syllabus. Catechists will lead LIVE Remote Classes via Zoom meetings with discussion based on the assignments.
