“Lives we may not currently be able to protect by the law we can rescue with love.”
- Archbishop Joseph Naumann
As of 2024, parishioners of Curé of Ars parish have stepped forward to respond in love and kindness to meet a pregnant or parenting mom in need. We are focused on providing real, tangible support to pregnant and parenting women in need; sometimes connecting the mom to local resources/clinics and sometimes to a parishioner or group of parishioners offering help directly.
Also included in the vision for Walking with Moms:
Increase parish and community awareness of the many places, organizations and people to whom pregnant and parenting women in need can turn
Move the conversation surrounding unexpectedly pregnant mothers from abortion to supporting life –from a partisan divide into pastoral unity
In the first quarter of 2024, our WWM group of 12-15 women responded to requests and provided a a double stroller for 4-month-old twins’ mom and a truckful of baby items to a first-time mom who needed everything quickly. Members of WWM do not have to give for every request, but can choose when to get involved and how much involvement/contribution is right for them. When members don’t have time to shop or source needed items there is an option to contribute by giving cash, Venmo or shipping an Amazon order to the WWM Coordinator.
Questions or interested in joining? Please email [email protected] or call WWM Coordinator, Sandra 816.916.0097. Group meetings are infrequent. Email and/or text messages share specific requests in order to respond timely to women in need.
